COURSE INFORMATION
This education unit aims to enable participants to work with adult patients and/or carers to promote urinary continence.
It is designed for nurses working in hospitals or the community (e.g. practice nurses, community nurses, health visitors, nurses in residential and nursing homes).

Stage 1 distance learning workbook focuses on the prevalence and impact of urinary incontinence; anatomy and physiology;
types of urinary incontinence; assessment and management; integrated continence services. It requires about 10 hours of study.
Stage 2
is a locally delivered workshop which involves watching a video and discussing the case histories of patients.
The workshop lasts about two hours and there is a follow-up activity lasting about two hours.

Participants can work through Stage 1 (distance learning workbook) and Stage 2 (workshop and follow-up activities),
and use the study hours for the purposes of PREP(CPD).
