When we are younger we think that school is the greatest place in the world. We get to get away from our parents and spend all day playing with our friends. As we get older though we start to dislike school because of all the work we have to do and then we get homework which is even worse.
For some people, school is the worst place they can be – they hate it and can't wait to leave. But for others education is a gift. It is a gift that will instil in you a thirst for knowledge and skills that will remain with you for the rest of your life.
And yet when many of us leave school and think about what jobs we might like to do, we aren't likely to put jobs and education in the same thought. This is such a pity since being a teacher is such a rewarding experience.
With the market under increasing strain it is vital to think long and hard about potential education paths that will lead to employment. You have to find a need and then fill it.
There is always a shortage of teachers, at home and abroad. And with a teaching degree you can have a job where you actually make a difference.
